The obverse of this brand new commemorative coin is inspired by the official birthday logo which – especially for his Unesco-recognition – was designed by the city of Bruges and on which Luc Luycx, the in-house engraver at the Royal Mint of Belgium, further improvised in close association with the city itself. A stylized image of the majestic Belfry of Bruges adorns it.
