Never before has an original historic Belgian coin been issued in a coincard!
The honour falls to a very special 1 franc coin. The 1 franc 1950- 1988 in both language versions in quadrilingual coincard is now available!

The 1 Frank Belgium 1950-1988 is one of the few coins that has not changed design in its 38-year career AND has circulated under no less than two regents: Prince Charles and King Baudouin I. It was also issued in both coin and medal alignment! In doing so, it was also Belgium's last 1 Franc coin issued without the portrait of the reigning monarch. It was even issued in a Flemish (1 Frank Belgique) and in a French-language variant (1 Franc Belgique) according to good practice.

The coin, designed by Marcel Rau, shows Ceres (Roman goddess of agriculture) and the Horn of Plenty on the obverse. Here is the year between two four-pointed stars and the name of the designer RAU. The reverse shows 1 Fr with a crowned oak leaf in between. Below this is written: = BELGIE = and on the French variant: = BELGIQUE =. The coin has no mint master privy mark or mint mark.
