Belgium 2 Euro Coin 2025 “National Lottery in Belgium” Proof in Case

The National Lottery of Belgium is an important institution that has been contributing to society for more than 90 years. Since its establishment in 1934, the Lottery has organised various games of chance, such as lotteries and betting. Proceeds are used to support social projects with a focus on culture, welfare, health and sport.

The National Lottery is supervised by the Minister of Finance, who is responsible for the overall policy and operation of the Lottery. This public responsibility ensures that the Lottery makes a positive contribution to the public interest and that proceeds benefit projects that strengthen society.

On the coin itself, the text ‘lottery national lottery’ can be seen on the left. Below that ‘BE 2025’, below it the mintmaster's mark (an erlenmeyer flask with aster) and the mint mark of the Royal Dutch Mint (the Mercury staff). Central in the background the logo of the National Lottery, over it Lady Fortuna with the horn of plenty, from which a number of four-leaf clovers fall. Bottom right ‘IB’, the initials of designer Iris Bruijns.
