Belgium 20 Euro Coin 2024 “Team Belgium” Silver Proof

It is now tradition for the Royal Mint of Belgium to support the Olympic team, which is participating in the Olympic (Summer) Games under the name Team Belgium, with a beautiful commemorative coin! This time extra special: after all, the largest silver coin in our range was chosen. And the addition of a gold-coloured detail adds extra success! Measuring a royal 37mm in diameter, the 20-euro coin is struck in the very highest Proof quality and is strictly limited to just 2,500 copies worldwide. 

BOIC's new house style

The Silver Proof coin shows the gold-coloured Team Belgium logo on a raised surface on the left. On the right on the mirrored surface, a representation of 'the Embrace', BOIC's corporate identity during the Paris Olympics. This symbol represents two arms reaching out to envelop and embrace people, spreading the message of unity. The end of the arms cannot be seen, to give the idea of infinity. The design of the coin was created by Iris Bruijns.

This silver Proof 20-euro coin not only has a beautiful obverse design, but also shows King Philip's portrait! In Luc Luycx's design, King Philip looks to the right, where his monogram is also depicted.
