On 5 May 2020 the ceremonial First Strike of the 75 years of freedom 5 Euro Coin took place in the new Royal Dutch Mint building in Houten. The First Strike was performed by Jaap Smit, Deputy Chairman of the National Committee for 4 and 5 May. Because of the current circumstances, the Royal Dutch Mint broadcast the ceremonial First Strike via livestream.The First Day Issue of the 75 years of freedom 5 Euro Coin is a collector’s item that was only available on 5 May 2020 between 09:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. (CEST) on www.royaldutchmint.com, limited to 1 per person.
