The obverse of the Scheepjesschelling from Holland shows a warship. The text ‘VIGLATE.DEO.CONFIDENTES’ is around the ship, this motto means: ‘Trusting in God’. The reverse shows the provincial coat of arms of Holland and the inscription ‘MO.NO. ORG.HOLL.ET.WESTFRI’, which means: ‘New coin of the States of Holland and West Friesland’.
