Amsterdam – Today, writer Splinter Chabot has minted the 50 years recognition of COC Five Euro Coin. The first strike took place in Hotel Mercier, which was the head quarters of the organization for years. The commemorative coin is designed by Coen van Ham and is commissioned by the Ministry of Finance. Sacretary of State from the Finance department, Marnix van Rij, was also present at the First Strike. Miss The Netherlands 2023, Rikkie Valerie Kollé, revealed the first commemorative coin for LGBTI+ organization COC The Netherlands. The reveal took place at Soestdijk Palace, the place where the royal approval was signed 50 years ago, by former Queen Juliana. Today, the commemorative coin is a tribute to everything the organization has done so far, but it is also a reminder of all the work that still has to be done. Today, the Royal Dutch Mint launches 50 silver sunflowers with glass enamel to celebrate 50 years Van Gogh Museum. The sunflowers are handmade by the silversmiths in the studio of the Royal Dutch Mint, and are based on the famous painting Sunflowers (1889) by Vincent van Gogh. The very first issue was handed over this morning to Rob Groot, business director of the Van Gogh Museum.
