Italy 2 Euro "European Constitution" 2005

• Special 2 euro coin in honor of the first anniversary of the treaty to provide for a European Constitution.

• The intended constitution has never entered into force. Instead, the Lisbon Treaty was signed in 2007.

• The coin depicts the Greek god Zeus in the form of a bull with princess Europe. The accompanying Greek myth tells how Zeus seduced the princess and took her to a remote continent: present-day Europe.
