As culture carriers and a means of communication, coins function as a sort of time capsules. The Annual Sets The Netherlands from 2024 are therefore linked to (inter)national and personal milestones of this year. In addition, from 2022 to 2025, the Annual Sets from the National Collection® are devoted to the four elements: earth, water, fire and air. After all, the elements are linked to the seasons that determine our annual rhythm. The series continues this year with the element “Air”.
2024: the year of…
Years are mainly remembered by the special events that took place, both (inter)nationally and personally. Many memorable events are immortalized on a coin or medal. For 2024, the Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution (KNRM) got a commemorative coin for their 200th anniversary. Later this year, we will commemorate the 750th birthday of our capital city Amsterdam. Also 75 years of NATO and 80 years of D-Day were immortalized on a medal: all very important events that happened this year!
UNC-Quality
The coins in this annual set have the UNC Quality. UNC stands for Uncirculated. This means the coins are minted for circulation purposes, but never actually brought into circulation. These coins are collected in a metal reservoir during production. The Annual Set The Netherlands UNC Quality contains all eight Dutch euro coins of 2024.
