The Royal Dutch Mint proudly presents restrikes of the very special Ducaton: Silver Rider, on a yearly basis. The original silver coin is named after the knight on horseback on the reverse. The Silver Rider was a beloved trade coin minted between 1659 – 1798 by the Republic of the Seven United Netherlands. The Royal Dutch Mint’s restrike is based on the original Ducaton from the province of Utrecht and is available in silver and gold, in both 1 and 2 ounce.
