Theme Set 2024
An important visit to the Royal Dutch Mint takes place on January 22, 2014. None other than Dutch King Willem-Alexander himself visits us in Utrecht, and not without a good reason. He gives the signal to start the minting of the brand new euro coins with his image on it. In 2013, he was officially crowned King of the Netherlands, which also means that the euro coins must bear his image. The new coins entered circulation from January 2014.
Design
The Theme Set 2024 is once again put in a special packaging that is all about the 10 years of euro coins with the image of King Willem-Alexander. There is also some extra information on the packaging, about the whole process from design to coins.
Besides all Dutch euro coins from 2024, the Theme Set also contains a special medal, designed for this special event that happened 10 years ago. The obverse has an amazing design, with in the middle the number 10. The reverse of the medal shows two euro coins, on the front with the image of the King, and in the background with the image of former Queen Beatrix. This is to indicate the transition of images on the Dutch euro coins.
