Description

As culture carriers and a means of communication, coins function as a sort of time capsules. The Annual Sets The Netherlands from 2024 are therefore linked to (inter)national and personal milestones of this year. From 2022 to 2025, the Annual Sets from the National Collection® are devoted to the four elements: earth, water, air and fire. In nature, these elements are linked to the seasons that determine our annual rhythm. In 2022 we kicked off the series with the element Earth and in 2024 we continue with the element ‘Air’.

The Year of…
Years are reminded by special events that took place, both (inter)nationally and personally. For 2024 we also take a moment for some memorable moments, which will be immortalized on a coin or medal. 2024 is the year we will commemorate the 200^th anniversary of the Royal Dutch Rescue Society. Also a commemorative coin will be issued in honor of the 750^th anniversary of capital city Amsterdam. Maybe the year 2024 is special for you for some other reason.
