The Koninklijke Tichelaar edition combines the strength and craftsmanship of the Royal Dutch Mint and Koninklijke Tichelaar. The restrike of the Ducaton, a coin that originates from the 16th century, is placed in a earthenware tile that is decorated with hand painted tulips by Koninklijke Tichelaar. Each tile is therefore one-of-a-kind. The Ducaton is restruck in Gold, Silver and Platinum. Not only is this the first ever Platinum issue by the Royal Dutch Mint, the Gold issue has a tulip edge just as the original Ducaton from 1761. Each issue has its own special features and will be highly in demand.
